Report of foreign bank & Financial Accounts (Form TD F 90-22.1)

What is this?

  • Form TD F 90-22.1 is an information form required to file with US Department of the Treasury
  • It is a separate filing and preparation from your US federal income tax return

Who must file?

Those who meet all following 3 requirement:
    1) A U.S. Person (refer to attached instructions for definition)
    2) Has financial interest in or signature authority or other authority over any financial accounts in a foreign country
    3) Total aggregate value of these accounts exceeds $10,000 at any time during the year

When to file?

By June 30 each year. 2007 report is due on June 30, 2008.

Please find attached or log on to the IRS website: www.irs.gov and download form TD F 90-22.1.
